-See what everyone is saying about us-

The LaFromboise’s our proud owners of Billy-

Hope the trip is going well. Thank you again for bringing the horse up here. I rode him last night, he is very nice. He is very powerful…strong in the front end, he will have no problems on either the heading or heeling end. I named him “Tank” because he is so stout and I felt like I was driving one. We are really going to like him. My husband made a comment last night that we will always look to you for our next prospect or rope horse. This says a lot because he does not say anything about that kind of stuff. We are very appreciative!!!!! You guys are awesome, I look forward to a lasting friendship. I cannot say enough GREAT things about your program. We will give anyone we know your number when looking for their next horse.

Hi Pine and Samantha,
Once again Diego has outshined himself. Heath roped at a #7 roping on Saturday the 10th of July and placed 2nd on the heading end. He is working exceptionally well. We went to a Yost roping on Sunday the 11th with 500+ teams. Heath made it back in the top 30 on both the heading and heeling end. We are so proud of the horse, we are very appreciative of the time you put into him. You told us exactly what he was and he is only getting better. Thank you again. Hope you never get sick of hearing from me. This is only the beginning of a lifetime of wins for this horse.

Thank you,

Erin Lafromboise

Hi Pine and Sam,
We bought Fancy Cedar Sonny from you at BLS in February. My son named him “Diego”. We have been hauling him to ropings and he is working great. He is a wonderful horse to be around. Our 3 year old son is able to ride him with no problems. Our family absolutely loves him, he greets you when it is feeding time and nuzzles us when we saddle him. Thank you for providing us with such a dream, we have said he will not leave our place.
Thank you,

Heath and Erin LaFromboise

UPDATE:

Hello Pine and Samantha,
I am writing again to let you know what a blessing “Deigo” has been for us. Our son has quickly learned to ride entirely by himself and is tracking steers in the arena. Of course not the fast ones, however Leighton thinks they are smokin’. Do you have any horses currently that are like him? Are you coming to BLS in September for the rope horse sale? Just curious…we love him and would like another just like him!

Thank you so much,

Erin LaFromboise

Kelsey and Tater Breakaway roping

We bought Tater from Pine and Sam McQuay in September of 2009. Tater is doing amazing! We have taken him to a couple jackpot ropings and he has done awesome. I team rope and breakaway on him and he does great at both. He has taken my roping to a whole new level because he puts me in the right place and he does everything I tell him to. He scores great and going to new arenas doesn't bother him. We also brand on him and trail ride on him and he does great because he doesn't spook at anything. We also work cows on him and we do pretty much everything on him. Pine started teaching me how rope about 3 years ago and he is an amazing teacher! I recommend McQuay horses to anyone. Thanks Pine and Sam!!

Hi Sam and Pine,
Just wanted to let you both know Colton and Rusty went to the Joe Beaver Clinic and did very well. Colton is so hooked on calf roping I can't keep him from the barn, practicing on his dummy, or tying his dummy. Thanks again for finding Rusty for us. I will post how he does in Kalispell next weekend, it will be the first Wrangler Rodeo of the spring season.

Stephanie-Deer Lodge, MT.

UPDATE:

Hi to the three of you. Colton and Rusty did really well in Kalispell. Rusty won 1, 2, & 3 in the ribbon roping. We got lots of compliments on him. Tell Pine to watch out he will be getting lots of calls we hope. Thanks again for finding him.

Hi Pine and Samantha,
Just wanted to send a note saying we enjoyed meeting you at the Billings Sale this weekend. We appreciate the chance to purchase Fancy, we think you guys do a wonderful job with your horses. He was the only one we wanted to buy that weekend, Jamie loved him. Just didn't have enough money to get the job done. If you come across one or have another that you think would do barrels and breakaway for high school rodeo and still be gentle for mom to ride, think of us. We were looking for a 3-6 year old gelding that had been started and Jamie could finish out.

Thanks again, Jon, Laura and Jamie

MajorFinally got a few good pics of TC on the horse that we bought from you in January. We call him Fletch (Major). You told us this horse was a all around ranch horse and he really is. We did team penning on him through the winter, but lately TC has been taking him to ranch rodeos. He put TC right where he needs to be every time. If TC misses, it's not the horses fault. He can head or heel a steer in or out of the box, holds the cow while you bail off to doctor it, he'll even ride right up in the open top trailer in the trailer loading competition. I personally have used him to run barrels when my barrel horse was lame. Fletch acted like he had been doing it his whole life. Thanks Pine and Samantha.

Tc and Gina

UPDATE:
Just got home from a ranch rodeo. Here is a pic of TC and the horse he bought from you 2 years ago. Cayde took him to a rodeo camp and won the goat tying on him. (July 2010)

Cayde and Irish Dear Pine and Samantha. Cayde is getting along great with Irish. She has been doing grand entries on him and just like you said, there is not much that bothers him. He is just a super sweet horse. She is going to start breakaway roping with him and he will be her main Cayde and Irishteam penning horse this winter. He can really track a cow. Thanks so much for helping us with our search for a horse for our daughter. It is so nice to know that there are people who sell horses that are willing to work with the buyer to find just the right horse. This is our second horse that we have purchased from you and it will probably not be our last.

Thanks,
T.C., Gina and Cayde Cuprak

We recently purchased two nice horses from Pine and Samantha McQuay. We were pleased with their decription of each horse. They were very wll represented from them all, including their 3 year old daughter. They rode and were as experienced as they said they were. We sold both horses in a week after purchasing them. I contacted them shortly there after and asked if they had any more like the ones we had purchased. They immediately contacted me and listed the horses they had available. We are still looking to buy more horses from Pine and Samantha, as we feel they are honest and great folks to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone. They will try to fit your needs and are very helpful.
Sincerely,

My 12 year daughter decided she wanted to learn how to break-away rope. So we went to the only place Shelbyin town, Diamond A Arena. This is where we met Pine and Samantha McQuay. Pine started giving my daughter break-away roping lessons on the ground using a roping calf dummy and in just a couple of months we needed a rope horse. Pine had a nice little mare that he thought would be the perfect match for Shelby. We bought the mare and have no regrets. She has been the perfect horse for Shelby to learn on. The mare is safe and knows her job. A major selling point for us was the fact that the McQuay's stand behind their horses and are very honest people. Pine guaranteed that if this horse didn't work out we could trade horses until the right match was found. How many horse dealers do you know that will make you that guarantee???

Dear Pine and Samantha: Every detail about Cody and Mercedes concerning their personalities, character, training, appearance and performance that you shared with us prior to our purchase of them was exactly as represented. Rarely can one expect Wes and Twila with Cody and Mercedesto find such honest, conscientious, and friendly horse folks as you two. We truly feel that we have found the two perfect horses for our piece of heaven in Wyoming. We think they kind of like it here as well. We look forward to many long enjoyable rides, a branding ortwo and some fall roundups over the next few years with these two special horses. As you know we have new nicknames for them, Tank and Smoke, and the names are sort of self explanatory! One for size and one for speed. Thanks for everything from taking our calls, to sharing information, delivering our purchases and simply caring for them as you did. We look forward to a long and lasting friendship with you as well. Thanks a million. The best to you and your family, especially little Karrigan.

I am 15 years old and starting High School Rodeo this year.  When I was 12,  I started taking roping lessons from Pine on an old roping horse named 'Cranky'.  Pine taught me good basics that I didn't get from the other 2 roping clinics I had gone to, and soon I needed another horse.  My Mom took a horse named 'Josie' that we were going to put up for sale and brought her to Pine.  Pine said 'Josie' would be fine and put 60 days roping training on her.  After that 60 days I was able to stop using 'Cranky' and have been roping off of 'Josie' ever since.  'Josie' and I took the belt buckle for breakaway this year at Jr. Rodeo, and people have been coming up to me asking where we got her and if we would sell her.  Pine did a great job training 'Josie' and teaching me.  We have since bought another horse from Pine named 'Irish'.  He is fast and knows exactly what he is doing when I back him into the roping box.   'Irish' can breakaway and can also head and heel both  and I will be using him for my heeling horse when I start team roping.  I love Pine and love roping up there, and I don't even think about going to anyone but Pine when it comes to roping and roping horses.
